Neural Organ Cushions

Silkscreened Cushions--Each is one of a kind.  The idea is to let the visual sound sing to your neurons.  Rest your head and let it play your synapses like organ keys.

This painting goes along with the novel I'm writing.

While my Painting Gently Weeps

This painting is entitled, "While my Painting Gently Weeps". It's a long story, but there's something alchemical about this painting, and I've seen it cry, I've seen it bleed...I'm sure there's some perfectly reasonable reason for it, but it still seems alive to me. It's my favorite of all my paintings.

The Rising Painting

Here's my newest work, just barely dry.

It's a shiny painting, so it was a little difficult to photograph...but here's the idea.

3 channels

This is a post-view of my thesis video from the Rhode Island School of Design. It was originally intended as a video installation, using 3 different channels of projection (meaning 3 different projectors). What you see here as the middle channel, was projected onto the floor, creating a bizarre optical illusion. I used Photoshop, Premier and Aftereffect to edit the video using layers of different footage. I utilized a lot of degenerated video footage, video-ing footage on a VCR over and over to give it a watery look. I also used keyed out feedback loops in the video (you know how if you point your camera at the screen while it's plugged in, you get some kind of wild fractal forms?)

Transmuted Decibel Controls

I've finally found a way to show a higher quality version of my videos. This one in particular has two permutations. One is a simple painting, a diptych, which is called "Decibel Controls" and the following animation of the painting is "Transmuted Decibel Controls". As you might guess from the title, this one is about sound; it's a kind of machine for hearing the inaudible. It's inspired by the sounds you hear underwater, (have you ever listened to the sound of a motorboat under the water?)

This video comes from a series I'm working on. The idea is that, they are not so much movies, (no characters, no drama, and no stories) but more like paintings...they are paintings that move.

So let me know what you think. Feel free to see the painting itself at http://sandolore.etsy.com/
